Cake Design

All cakes are made to order as per customer needs. Should the customer supply us with a picture of a design, we will try to decorate accordingly. However, the customer is to bear in mind that slight differences in design and colour may occur.

 

Cake Decorations

Fresh flowers: These can be supplied by the customer. It is important for customers who supply their own fresh flowers to discuss the toxicity of the flowers to be used with the florist. Baker’s little Elf cannot be held liable for any food contamination arisen thereof.

Non-edible decorations: Non-edible decorations will only be used at the customer’s request. Baker’s little Elf accepts no responsibility for any harm that may arise from these decorations.

 

Payment Terms

A 30% non-refundable deposit is required upon acceptance of the quote. The balance is to be paid before or on the day of delivery or collection. Cash or EFT is accepted, regrettably no Cheques is accepted.

 

Consultations

Due to Baker’s little Elf being a home-based business, consultations are by appointment only. Face to face consultations will be done after 17:00 during weekdays. However, the customer can send requests and ideas via email and consultations can be done telephonically.

 

Lead Time

At least 2 months’ notice is required for wedding cakes and up to 3 weeks for other cakes. Depending on the orders received, we can accept at a shorter notice period. This does not apply to wedding cakes and complex designed cakes.

 

Alterations and Changes

Any alterations or changes to wedding cakes are to be communicated, in writing, one (1) month prior to the required date; all other cakes at least seven (7) days prior to the required date. Major alterations and/or changes at short notice will be charged accordingly.

 

Cancellation Policy

Wedding cakes are to be cancelled one (1) month prior to the delivery date and seven (7) days for other cakes or cupcakes. The 30% non-refundable deposit applies and cannot be used as down payment on a next order.

 

Collection / Delivery

Collection: Collection of cake(s) or cupcakes is by prior arrangement. Baker’s little Elf will not be responsible for any damage or loss that may occur during the transferring and exchanging of cake(s) or cupcakes.

Delivery: Baker’s little Elf will make every effort to deliver cake(s) or cupcakes incident free within a 25km radius from Rooihuiskraal North at no cost. Delivery charges will apply thereafter.

 

Set-up

Should the customer require Baker’s little Elf to set-up the cake(s) or cupcakes at a specific location, the customer is responsible for providing an appropriate and secure table and environment for the cake(s) or cupcakes. Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal room temperature of 18-20 degrees or below. Baker’s little Elf will not be responsible for any damage to the cake(s) or cupcakes after set-up is complete.
